Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the nation’s leading fleet maintenance providers, is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Perth Amboy, NJ. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing Class 7–8 trailers, ensuring safety, reliability, and uptime for our fleet operations.
Pay & Schedule - $30.00 – $35.00/hour (based on experience)
- Paid weekly (every Friday)
- Sign-on bonus up to $5,000
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities - Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Class 7–8 trailers
- Conduct DOT inspections and safety checks
- Inspect, repair, and maintain undercarriage and trailer components
- Accurately complete service documentation (manual & digital)
- Safely operate vehicles to test performance
- Move, install, and remove parts as needed
- Follow all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications - Minimum 2+ years of trailer or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience
- Experience with DOT inspections
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Must provide own tools
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Ability to move and position heavy objects
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
