Technician, Production Operations (Tech Ops)

Location: Chaska, MN | On‑Site

Job Overview

The Technician, Production Operations (Tech Ops) supports daily manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment readiness, executing work orders, and ensuring compliance with quality system requirements. This role operates within a Daily Management framework focused on standard work, real‑time feedback, and on‑time delivery of instruments used in hospital and laboratory environments.

This position is part of the Tech Ops Hardware Team and supports regulated manufacturing operations that directly impact patient health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on test equipment, tools, and fixtures; document all work in the quality system
  • Investigate out‑of‑tolerance (OOT) issues by reviewing equipment history, SOPs, and part data to support root cause analysis
  • Provide production line support, troubleshooting equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
  • Fabricate or modify fixtures and tooling to support production and process improvements
  • Manage calibration equipment, including coordination, tracking, and compliance
  • Complete quality documentation related to maintenance, equipment updates, and tooling records
  • Follow SOPs, GDP, GMP, and production plans to execute work orders accurately and on time
  • Accurately complete Device History Records (DHRs) to ensure traceability and compliance
  • Use hand tools (torque wrenches, screwdrivers, drills) and electronic test equipment for assembly, testing, and repair
  • Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and inspections to verify product quality
  • Read and interpret schematics, work instructions, and engineering documentation
  • Support quality inspections and document results per quality requirements
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams on issue resolution and continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workstation
  • Stand, walk, and handle equipment/materials as needed in support of operations
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s (AA) degree required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a technical, production, or manufacturing environment
  • 2–4 years of electrical testing and troubleshooting experience in manufacturing
  • Experience following GDP and documented procedures
  • Working knowledge of GMP and completion of DHRs
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, schematics, and production plans
  • Experience using hand tools and electronic test equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment, tools, and fixtures
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (25 lbs regularly)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Experience working with wiring, schematics, assembly, and basic repairs
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy in a regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in FDA‑ or ISO‑regulated manufacturing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Oracle and Windows‑based systems
  • Experience in electrical testing, quality control, and inspections
  • Exposure to engineering support for electromechanical or hardware products

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
