Test Engineer
Salary: $95,000 – $100,000 base + bonus

The Test Engineer will provide support across multiple functions within the Testing and Quality department. This role involves contributing to activities including, but not limited to, specification and drawing review, procedure development, operator training, process improvement initiatives, troubleshooting, disposition of non-conforming products, and equipment calibration and maintenance at the component, module, and network levels.
This position will primarily support Optical Products and Systems Manufacturing and will work closely with engineering, product development, and production teams. The Test Engineer will also lead and coordinate technical discussions related to processes within their area of responsibility. This role is designed to augment existing engineering resources and enhance overall test and quality capabilities.
A working knowledge of electronic controls and line drives is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and maintain test processes and associated equipment
- Document test procedures and train technicians and operators on proper execution
- Perform MV and EOM studies, maintain test hardware and fixturing, and collect required test data
- Troubleshoot test failures and implement corrective actions in collaboration with Product Engineering and R&D
- Support design of experiments and solution development for process and product issues
- Establish and monitor SPC controls; perform data analysis including Cpk evaluations
- Drive improvements in test throughput, efficiency, and product yield to meet program objectives
- Manage calibration and maintenance of test equipment
- Support the disposition and analysis of non-conforming products
Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Responsibilities
- Support and meet annual and long-term ES&H objectives
- Integrate ES&H principles into procedures, equipment selection, and product design
- Participate in required ES&H training
- Assist in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions
Qualifications
- Experience operating manufacturing test equipment required
- Familiarity with technical computing or data analysis software preferred
- Working knowledge of test methodologies and procedure development preferred
- Understanding of telecommunications transmission equipment architecture is a plus
- Experience with optical testing methodologies preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred (advanced degree a plus)
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required
