The Technology Policy Coordinator supports the development, documentation, and maintenance of IT policies, standards, and procedures. This role assists in ensuring alignment with organizational requirements, regulatory expectations, and industry frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
This position works closely with IT, Information Security and business departments to help maintain accurate documentation, support audit readiness, and promote technology policy awareness across the County.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the entry-level classification in the IT support function. Incumbents perform routine policy documentation, tracking, and coordination duties under general supervision. The role supports policy development and audit readiness efforts but does not independently interpret regulatory requirements, establish governance frameworks, or approve final policies. Work is performed using established templates and guidance aligned with recognized standards such as NIST and ISO, with complex issues escalating to senior staff.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) years of reprographics document control, technical documentation, information technology support, compliance support, records management, or project coordination or related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience;

Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.

Knowledge of:
Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to 35-50 pounds occasionally, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, balancing, client/customer contact, squatting to perform the essential functions. Subject to contact with dust, fumes, noise, and hazardous chemicals.
