Position Purpose:

As the Director of Engineering, RM+, you will lead a skilled team of software engineers in their work to develop, maintain and extend Home Depot’s AdTech software services. Our tech team is building out the Ads infrastructure at Home Depot to help advertisers reach their target audience as well as end customers to have the best experience with products and services offered at Home Depot. An ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the AdTech ecosystem, software services. The role includes the ability to perform the following:

  • Lead team of software engineers to develop and deliver on the ad tech roadmap to support Home Depot’s retail media network.
  • Map business requirements to evolve to a scalable architecture. Build secure, maintainable, reliable, scalable software solutions and services.
  • Delivering software releases iteratively on schedule and with quality.
  • Manage the ad tech stack and distributed infrastructure to drive operational excellence. Work with SRE teams to ensure monitoring, alerting of ad tech platforms with well-defined performance metrics.
  • Manage relationships with vendors in Ad Tech to drive integrations, bug resolution and product enhancements.
  • Continuously improve product quality, system performance, team engagement and productivity. Review and action against ideas.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design sessions, adopt modern software development standards and Ad Tech standards where applicable.
  • Collaborate with enterprise partners to drive process improvements and improve velocity.
  • Review issues and roadmap for improvements with stakeholders.

  • Partners with functional and technical leaders to identify and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs

  • Defines and communicates value propositions, success metrics, and outcomes
  • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
  • Develops, plans, and implements sustainable, repeatable, and reliable processes; oversees process improvement

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Typically reports to Sr. Director or Vice President.


Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience designing and developing scalable distributed systems.
  • 5+ years managing teams and delivering results.
  • Strong technical background in Ad tech - serving, targeting, and/or measurement technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated passion to keep up with the latest advancements in Ad technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, being comfortable with diving into the data and analyzing trends.
