Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

This field technician role focuses on supporting oil and gas operations through hands-on work in the field, including roustabout tasks, rig up and rig down activities, and tank builds. You will work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, using hand and power tools, and operating equipment to support construction, water, and pump-related services. The position requires frequent travel, long shifts, and a strong commitment to safety and reliability in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform roustabout duties in the field, including general oil and gas site labor, equipment handling, and support for daily operations.
  • Assist with rig up and rig down activities, ensuring equipment is safely assembled, disassembled, and moved as required.
  • Support tank build projects by helping construct, assemble, and maintain tanks and related infrastructure.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions for 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete construction, maintenance, and service tasks.
  • Assist with water and pump-related work, including setup, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Operate or assist with telehandler and other construction-related equipment as needed, following all safety procedures.
  • Provide field service support at various sites, including traveling to different locations as required by project needs.
  • Work at heights up to 30 feet in a man lift while following all fall protection and safety guidelines.
  • Follow all site safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment including steel-toe footwear, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or site hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete daily tasks efficiently and meet project timelines.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • At least 1 year of experience using hand and power tools in a construction, industrial, or field environment.
  • Roustabout work, including rig up, rig down, and tank build activities in oil and gas or similar settings.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule (such as 6 days on followed by days off, including swing shifts).
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to different job sites as needed.
  • Capability to work safely at heights up to 30 feet in a man lift.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable use of steel-toe footwear and adherence to all safety requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in oil and gas field operations or construction services.
  • Hands-on experience with tank builds, water systems, and pump-related work.
  • Familiarity with telehandler operation or similar construction equipment.
  • Previous field service experience supporting remote or rotating job sites.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse and outdoor field environments as needed.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced field conditions.

Work Environment

You will work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation, often for 12-hour day shifts on a rotating swing schedule. Work may be based out of a warehouse location with frequent travel to various field sites, including daily travel to different towns or job locations where per diem may be provided. The environment is industrial and construction-focused, with exposure to oil and gas operations, water and pump systems, and tank builds. You will regularly use hand and power tools, and may work around or with telehandlers and other construction equipment. Steel-toe footwear and appropriate personal protective equipment are required at all times to maintain a safe work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
