Job Title: Mechanical Installation Technician

Job Description

The Mechanical Installation Technician installs chutes, mechanical systems, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and related components inside a large warehouse facility. This role involves working with hand and power tools, following blueprints and standard operating procedures (SOPs) precisely, and handling both large and small mechanical and electrical parts. The technician works at heights of up to 6 feet and performs physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install chutes, mechanical systems, HMIs, and related interfaces according to project specifications.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately without deviating from instructions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to assemble and install mechanical and electrical components.
  • Install wires and cables, working with both large and small parts with a high level of precision.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, including fitting, fastening, and aligning components for proper operation.
  • Support general installation activities such as loading, unloading, and positioning equipment and materials.
  • Measure and mark installation locations accurately using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
  • Assist with basic electrical-related tasks as directed, including working from electrical schematics where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including debris removal and basic housekeeping tasks.
  • Perform general labor and production support tasks as needed in a fast-paced, industrial warehouse environment.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, when qualified and authorized to do so.
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines to ensure installations meet safety, performance, and reliability standards.
  • Collaborate with on-site advisors and service teams to coordinate work, resolve issues, and meet project timelines.
  • Work safely at heights of up to 6 feet, using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools in an industrial, construction, mechanical, or installation environment.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for layout and installation work.
  • Ability to follow blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) precisely without deviation.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly, repair, or installation.
  • Comfort working with both large and small mechanical and electrical parts, including wires and cables.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience in general labor, production, or industrial environments.
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts and working with simple electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work safely at heights of up to 6 feet.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, carpentry, industrial maintenance, or general contracting.
  • Experience with installation work in warehouse or distribution center environments.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices related to mechanical or electrical installations.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment, where licensed or trained.
  • Previous work in service, repair, or field installation roles.
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production or general labor settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks correctly the first time.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to support occasional weekend or extended-hour work when needed.
  • Valid identification required for site access.

Work Environment

This position is based inside a large, fast-paced warehouse facility with many moving parts and active operations. The work involves frequent walking, standing, lifting, and working at heights of up to 6 feet while using hand and power tools. The environment is labor-intensive and production-focused, with installation activities occurring around other ongoing warehouse operations. You will collaborate closely with on-site advisors and service teams and may work near powered industrial vehicles and automated equipment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with an 8–10 hour day shift starting at approximately 7:00 a.m., and occasional work on Saturdays as needed, including potential overtime before or after the normal shift. Required attire includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a work shirt, along with any additional personal protective equipment specified by the site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
