Mechanical Installation Technician in Richmond, VA Paying $24/hr (Hands and power tools experienced*)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hour day shift (starts 7:00 a.m - 3:30PM M-F)

Pay: $24/hr - WEEKLY PAY!

Travel: Potential travel opportunities based on performance

Environment: Large, active warehouse facility

Job Summary

Mechanical Installation Technician installs mechanical systems, chutes, interfaces, and related components inside a large warehouse environment. This role requires precise blueprint reading, strong mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience with tools, wiring, and assembly. You’ll work as part of an installation team to complete high‑quality, safety‑focused mechanical builds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install chutes, mechanical systems, and HMIs according to project specifications.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and SOPs with accuracy and consistency.
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble, mount, and secure mechanical and electrical components.
  • Install and route wires and cables for both large and small parts.
  • Work safely at heights up to 6 feet.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, general installation, and basic repair tasks.
  • Load, unload, and move materials and equipment within the work area.
  • Measure and mark installation locations using a tape measure and basic tools.
  • Support general construction and industrial installation activities.
  • Assist with quality checks to ensure installations meet specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull tools and materials as needed.
  • Coordinate with advisors and service teams to resolve installation issues.
  • Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
  • Operate forklifts when qualified and required.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to follow blueprints, schematics, and SOPs precisely.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 6 feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for 8–10 hours.
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or general labor environments.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components, including wiring.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, labor-intensive setting.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industrial or warehouse installation environments.
  • Experience performing quality assurance checks.
  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Experience with inventory handling or material movement.

  • Valid identification for site access.

Work Environment
  • Large, active warehouse with ongoing operations and frequent material movement.

  • Required attire: steel-toe footwear, jeans, work shirt, and PPE.
  • Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, mechanical components, electrical parts, and material handling equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
