Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

The HVAC Technician installs HVAC filters on units at commercial and industrial facilities while delivering professional, high-quality customer service. This role includes performing visual inspections of equipment, documenting filter changes, and completing all required paperwork accurately. The technician works primarily in outdoor environments and at heights, and is responsible for the proper use and accountability of all assigned tools.

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC filters on a variety of HVAC units in commercial, industrial, and school facilities.
  • Perform thorough visual inspections of HVAC equipment during each service visit to identify any issues or irregularities.
  • Accurately document filter change dates and other service details on required forms and paperwork.
  • Ensure accountability and proper care of all tools, equipment, and materials used on the job.
  • Use ladders and work safely at heights to access HVAC units and related equipment.
  • Operate hand tools and basic mechanical tools to complete installations and related tasks.
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service while working at client sites.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for working outdoors, at heights, and in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete assigned work orders efficiently and on schedule.
  • Travel to different job sites as needed, following company policies related to driving and equipment transport.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with basic HVAC installation tasks, including installing HVAC filters.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with HVAC systems and related components.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and work comfortably and securely at heights.
  • Capability to lift 25+ pounds as needed to move filters, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficiency using common hand tools and basic mechanical tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
  • Strong attention to safety and adherence to site and company safety procedures.
  • Reliable work ethic and ability to work a consistent swing/second-shift schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Exposure to HVAC systems in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for HVAC-related issues.
  • General labor experience in construction, facilities, or maintenance settings.
  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and develop toward a Senior Technician role.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with site contacts and team members.
  • Organizational skills to manage tools, paperwork, and multiple work orders.

Work Environment

This role is based primarily at schools and other commercial or industrial facilities and follows a swing/second-shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Work is performed largely outdoors and at heights, often using ladders to access rooftop or elevated HVAC units. The position involves regular physical activity, including climbing, lifting, and carrying equipment and filters. Technicians use standard hand tools and mechanical tools in the field and must follow site-specific and company safety protocols at all times. The environment can include varying weather conditions and requires comfort working in a range of outdoor and facility settings while maintaining a professional appearance appropriate for commercial and school locations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
