Job Description

This hybrid Technician role combines Bot-Mark layout work with hands-on carpentry and general construction labor. You will prioritize laying out buildings using Bot-Mark equipment to prepare for framing, and when no new projects are starting, you will receive training and work in framing and carpentry. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools on active job sites, is eager to learn new technologies, and wants to grow their skills in construction and layout.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out buildings using Bot-Mark equipment to prepare sites for framing and construction activities.
  • Actively work on-site with a tool bag, performing hands-on tasks throughout the workday.
  • Perform basic construction duties, including assisting with framing and carpentry as needed.
  • Support demolition work and participate in general site cleanup to maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Troubleshoot layout and construction-related issues as they arise and help identify practical solutions.
  • Follow instructions and show a strong willingness to learn new skills and be trained in framing and carpentry.
  • Work safely and cooperatively with a team, adhering to all safety procedures and site guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of construction experience on active job sites.
  • Experience operating and learning new technologies and tools in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately for layout and carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to use hand tools confidently in day-to-day construction work.
  • Willingness to work with Bot-Mark equipment and learn layout processes.
  • Capacity to perform basic construction, demolition, and site cleanup duties.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems on the job site and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints is a strong plus.
  • Background or exposure to carpentry and framing work.
  • Familiarity with construction hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience in general labor on construction projects.
  • Interest in expanding skills in framing, carpentry, and layout technology.

Work Environment

You will work primarily on construction job sites in a hands-on, field-based environment. The role involves wearing a tool bag and using hand tools, power tools, and Bot-Mark layout equipment on a daily basis. Work is team-oriented and safety-focused, with tasks ranging from layout and framing support to demolition and site cleanup. The environment is active and physical, requiring comfort with outdoor and job-site conditions and appropriate workwear suitable for construction activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minnetonka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
