Job Title: Concrete Repair Technician

Job Description

The Concrete Repair Technician performs heavy, labor‑intensive concrete restoration work on commercial and infrastructure projects across New York and New Jersey. This role involves chipping, grinding, patching, and structural repair in high‑dust, high‑intensity environments while following strict safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform concrete repair and restoration tasks including chipping, grinding, demolition, patching, concrete finishing, and structural repair on commercial and infrastructure projects.
• Use hand tools and power tools such as chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work with concrete, masonry, rebar, formwork, and epoxy materials as part of structural and surface repair activities.
• Follow detailed construction safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall‑protection systems and respirators.
• Work at heights on temporary flooring, scaffolding, and elevated platforms while maintaining strict adherence to fall‑protection procedures.
• Operate in high‑dust, noisy, and physically demanding environments for extended periods, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or awkward spaces.
• Travel regularly between various job sites in New York and New Jersey as assigned.
• Participate in and successfully complete extensive safety training prior to starting field work and adhere to all safety guidelines on site.
• Collaborate with primarily Spanish‑speaking field crews, contributing to a cohesive and productive team environment.
• Follow project directions, submittals, and construction documentation as required, and use construction technology platforms such as Procore when needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

Essential Skills

• Heavy concrete labor experience including chipping, demolition, patching, and structural repair.
• Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work long hours in demanding environments.
• Ability to read and speak English to understand safety procedures and work instructions.
• Experience using chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair tools.
• Comfort working at heights with fall‑protection systems on scaffolding, temporary flooring, and elevated platforms.
• Ability to wear a half‑face respirator (3M 3000 series) and meet fit‑test requirements, including being clean‑shaven where the mask seals.
• Familiarity with construction safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
• Willingness and ability to travel between job sites in New York and New Jersey.
• Reliable transportation to reach various job sites.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a field crew.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, or structural repair.
• Experience with masonry, rebar installation, formwork, and epoxy applications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Ability to work productively with primarily Spanish‑speaking crews.
• Familiarity with construction documentation, submittals, and project coordination tools such as Procore.
• OSHA safety certifications (preferred but not required).
• Ability to pass extensive safety training before starting field work.

Work Environment

Work takes place on both outdoor and indoor construction sites, often on active commercial or infrastructure projects. The environment is high‑dust and noisy, with frequent use of heavy tools and equipment. Technicians regularly work at heights on temporary platforms, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces, as well as in confined or awkward spaces. The pace is fast and the labor is physically demanding, requiring sustained stamina throughout the shift. Field crews are predominantly Spanish‑speaking, and travel between job sites in New York and New Jersey is a regular part of the role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln Park, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lincoln Park,NJ.
