Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Coffee Machine Technician (NYC Field Service)

Job Description

This role focuses on installing, servicing, and repairing coffee machines at office locations throughout New York City. You will work in the field as a helper alongside a lead technician, learning to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure equipment operates reliably for customers. The position begins with an interview and a structured training period of approximately two weeks in Garden City, NY, after which you will primarily work in NYC office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead technician with the installation, maintenance, and repair of coffee machines in office locations across New York City.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related issues on coffee machines to restore proper operation.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of equipment using hand tools and power tools as directed.
  • Support routine preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing coffee machines.
  • Handle basic plumbing connections and adjustments related to coffee machine installation and operation.
  • Use electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Provide professional, customer-facing service by communicating clearly and respectfully with office staff and end users.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience using basic hand tools for repair, assembly, or maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to use power tools safely for mechanical assembly and disassembly.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, including understanding of mechanical assembly and repair.
  • Troubleshooting skills to help identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Field service mindset, comfortable working at various customer office locations.
  • Customer-facing skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with clients.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
  • Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions and complete basic documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in equipment repair, service, or maintenance, especially in a field service capacity.
  • Experience working with coffee machines or similar beverage or vending equipment.
  • Previous exposure to mechanical assembly or light plumbing and electrical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in customer environments.
  • Comfort working under the guidance of a lead technician and following structured training programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
