In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with engineers and project managers to define requirements, gather technical input, and deliver clear and concise documentation to ensure operational efficiency and product quality.
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Pay rate: $60/hr
Shift schedule: Will be given by the supervisor
Onsite location: 50% Hayward site, 50% Foster City site
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and managers to understand project requirements and concepts thoroughly.
- Coordinate with technical program managers and leadership to ensure the consistency of documentation standards, styles, and priorities.
- Strategize and deliver documentation guides in accordance with project timelines.
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, crafting compelling technical content, and exhibit strong time management abilities.
- Develop digital documentation, including images, while adhering to established style and platform standards.
- Develop web-based training using Articulate.
- Partner with technicians and engineers to gain a comprehensive understanding of process intricacies and fulfill objectives.
- Solicit and integrate customer feedback on documentation to optimize usability.
- Drive completion of projects and tasks.
Qualifications:
- 6 -7 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in manufacturing procedures.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in writing and editing.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Oxygen XML Editor, MS Office, Google Suite, and Adobe (Photoshop, Acrobat).
- Ability to capture and enhance digital photographs.
- Capability to manage workload efficiently amidst changing priorities while meeting project deadlines.
- Experience with manufacturing content in the automotive, EV industry, and/or high-tech sectors.
- Familiarity with Dozuki, Articulate, Slack, CATIA, JIRA, Confluence, Document Management tools, PLM.
- BONUS QUALIFICATIONS Technical acumen in electrical, mechanical, automotive, and/or sensor hardware.
