Technical Designer — NYC (On‑Site, Full‑Time)

Team size: ~15-20 | Location: Flatiron, NYC | Reports to: Senior Technical Designer

About the role

  • We’re hiring a Technical Designer to own fit, grading, and product execution across intimates, sleepwear, loungewear and athleisure in both knits and woven categories. This role sits at the center of design, product development and production, ensuring the product is consistent, scalable, and aligned to our standards. You’ll lead fittings, drive vendor communication, and maintain precision across PLM. This is a high-responsibility role with clear ownership from day one.

Why This Role Exists

We’re scaling thoughtfully and intentionally. This role ensures fit, quality, and construction hold as we grow, while improving the systems and workflows behind them.

What you’ll do

  • Own fit comments, grading, and spec accuracy in WFX PLM; ensure all revisions are clearly documented and executed
  • Lead fittings end-to-end: prep samples, run sessions, capture notes, and track all follow-ups to resolution
  • Manage daily vendor communication on fit, construction, and corrections; flag risks early and drive clarity
  • Maintain Illustrator flats, tech packs, and Excel trackers; ensure alignment across design, production, and factories
  • Establish and uphold quality control standards with vendors; ensure consistency in execution across styles
  • Maintain sample library and organization; ensure all samples are tracked, accessible, and up to date
  • Support and mentor junior team members on fit process, PLM accuracy, and workflow standards

What Success Looks Like

  • 4–6 months: Independently lead fittings, reduce fit-related iterations, and establish strong, consistent communication with factories
  • 12 months: Improve grading consistency across styles, streamline PLM workflows, and materially raise fit and construction quality

What You’ll Bring

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years in technical design
  • Strong WFX PLM, Adobe Illustrator, and Excel
  • Deep understanding of fit, pattern making (2D or 3D), draping, grading, and garment construction
  • Clear eye for garment proportion and design intent
  • Knowledge of trims and materials, including interfacings, elastics, thread, and construction components
  • Ability to lead fittings and communicate directly with overseas vendors
  • Strong time management; able to prioritize and manage overlapping deadlines

Nice-to-haves:

  • Intimates or close-to-body product experience
  • Woven product experience
  • CLO3D, Gerber, or Optitex
  • Airtable or ERP systems

Schedule & work style

  • On‑site, Monday–Friday, standard business hours
  • Fast‑paced, collaborative environment across product, production, marketing and social teams.
  • Culture of ownership, transparency, and innovation — we value curiosity, follow-through, and results.
