A well‑established, full‑service Boutique CPA firm (25 professionals) in Stockton, CA is seeking a Generalist Tax Manager to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on tax professional who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing complex returns, and mentoring staff while remaining involved in technical work.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review a broad range of federal and state tax returns, including individuals, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and non-profits
- Oversee tax planning, extensions, estimates, and compliance matters
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain long‑term relationships
- Lead, train, and mentor staff and seniors
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and firm standards
- Collaborate with audit and accounting teams as needed across client engagements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong generalist tax background across multiple entity types
- Experience working with HNW individuals and closely held businesses
- CPA license required
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters tax software
- Strong communication and leadership skills
