Tax Manager
Oklahoma City, OK
$125,000 to $145,000 + tax season bonus
Get settled this summer, before the fall deadlines come around
After tax season, a lot of Tax Managers start looking at the bigger picture.
Not just title. Not just salary. The bigger question is how the year actually feels. Whether the next cycle is likely to be any different, or whether it is just going to be more of the same with a slightly different label on it.
This is the kind of role that tends to land well at exactly this point in the year.
You can join while things are calmer, get properly settled over summer, build credibility with the team and clients, and head into the fall deadlines in a much stronger position. For the right person, that timing matters.
This opportunity is with an independent CPA firm in Oklahoma City that has built the kind of environment a lot of people say they want, but do not always find.
The team is around 20 people. Big enough for proper structure, good systems, and clear standards. Small enough that your work is visible, your input matters, and your progression does not disappear behind layers.
What stands out most is how they handle busy season.
Nobody is pretending it is easy. But it is planned properly. Capacity is looked at. Workload is discussed openly. Expectations are clear. It feels structured, not frantic. For the right person, that can make a very real difference to the whole year.

How to apply (without the fuss)
Most people treat job ads like a box-ticking ritual. Don’t.
If this resonates, apply. The button isn’t a marriage proposal it’s a conversation starter.

Only at ~87% of the spec? Perfect. Apply anyway. The CPA firms I work with want interesting, capable people, not carbon copies.
Don’t overthink it. Worst case: a helpful chat about your next step. Best case: the role that gets you unstuck.
