This role combines strategic foresight, deep hands‑on architecture, and technical leadership across application platforms, low‑code/no‑code ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, AI/ML, and cybersecurity.
The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead and architect, partnering with business stakeholders, customers, and project teams to define the overall solution architecture, provide technical guidance, and ensure the successful delivery of robust, secure, and forward‑thinking digital solutions (including releases, enhancements, and impact across the enterprise).
This role is ideal for a technologist who can shape future‑state architectures, establish enterprise guardrails, and still remain close to delivery and execution.
**Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance**
Key Responsibilities
Technology Vision & Enterprise Architecture
- Define and evolve the target‑state architecture for modern digital platforms, spanning custom development, low‑code/no‑code solutions, cloud services, data platforms, AI/ML, and security.
- Establish product‑agnostic architectural principles, reference architectures, and design patterns aligned with enterprise strategy, security posture, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies including AI‑assisted development, automation platforms, and composable architectures based on measurable business outcomes.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Act as the senior technical authority for complex initiatives, providing architectural leadership and governance across multiple teams and programs.
- Mentor system, platform, and solution architects, raising architectural maturity and engineering discipline across the organization.
- Lead architectural decision‑making, trade‑off analysis, and technical risk management for mission‑critical systems.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Serve as the technical lead and architect for major initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, customers, and delivery teams throughout the lifecycle.
- Define overall solution architectures and guide engineering teams through design, build, release, and enhancement cycles.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise operating and support models.
Low‑Code / No‑Code Platform Enablement
- Define architectural patterns and governance models for effective use of low‑code/no‑code platforms alongside traditional software engineering.
- Ensure low‑code/no‑code solutions meet enterprise standards for scalability, security, maintainability, and integration.
- Balance speed‑to‑value with long‑term architectural integrity and operational sustainability.
Data, AI & Cloud Architecture
- Architect platforms that leverage data, analytics, and AI/ML to drive automation, insight, and intelligent decision‑making.
- Define cloud‑native and hybrid architectures that emphasize resilience, performance, security, and cost transparency.
- Guide responsible AI adoption, including considerations for data quality, model lifecycle management, explainability, and governance.
Cybersecurity & Risk by Design
- Embed security principles into all architecture decisions, following “security‑by‑design” and “privacy‑by‑design” approaches.
- Partner closely with cybersecurity, risk, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Address identity, access management, data protection, threat modeling, and secure integration patterns across platforms.
Integration & Ecosystem Architecture
- Lead the design of complex integrations across enterprise systems, low‑code platforms, data sources, and external services.
- Define API, event‑driven, and integration strategies that enable loose coupling, extensibility, and system resilience.
- Ensure interoperability, data consistency, and reliability across the digital ecosystem.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to business and IT leadership, shaping technology roadmaps, investment decisions, and delivery approaches.
- Translate complex technical concepts, risks, and trade‑offs into clear, actionable guidance for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate across security, legal, compliance, infrastructure, operations, and engineering to ensure cohesive delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in architecture, application platforms, or enterprise technology delivery.
- 5+ years operating in a senior or principal architect role leading large‑scale, complex solutions.
- Proven experience designing scalable, resilient, secure enterprise platforms.
- Strong executive communication, influence, and storytelling skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or product‑centric delivery environments.
- Demonstrated experience across custom development, low‑code/no‑code platforms, cloud, data, AI/ML, and cybersecurity.
- Track record of influencing architecture across multiple programs or portfolios.
Nice to Have
- Experience architecting AI‑enabled, data‑driven, or intelligent automation platforms.
- Experience establishing enterprise guardrails for low‑code/no‑code adoption.
- Background in API‑led, event‑driven, or microservices‑based architectures.
