Job Summary:

The Build Reliability Engineer will ensure the reliability and quality of complex Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) products from the design phase through to manufacturing, focusing on Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Quality (DfQ), and Reliability (DfR). This role involves close collaboration with engineering and production teams to enhance product integrity and process efficiency. It requires a strong background in engineering, familiarity with PCB/PCBA fabrication and assembly, and a keen ability for statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with design and manufacturing teams to identify and understand critical manufacturing, quality, and reliability attributes.
  • Lead the implementation of manufacturing processes and reliability control plans.
  • Approve or reject product/process qualification activities based on rigorous review.
  • Analyze process control, measurement, and reliability data to make informed, real-time decisions.
  • Work with production to enhance processes for better yield, cost, and throughput without compromising on quality and reliability.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong engineering background in a relevant discipline or physics.
  • Experience in PCB/PCBA fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis and material/failure analysis methodologies.

Industry Experience Required: Experience in aerospace or satellite manufacturing environments preferred, with specific experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing process development. Familiarity with production and supplier quality standards is also desirable.
