Carrier HVAC Engineering as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge chiller systems that will define the future of sustainable cooling solutions. Preferred Qualifications:Ability to apply thermodynamic and heat transfer principles to optimize and troubleshoot HVAC systems.Expertise in using selection and thermal analysis software (e.g., EES, Dymola)Capability to analyze complex test data and present findingsFamiliarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI) and regulations.Supports systems integration, technical design, model based design, systems analysis for supportability and effectiveness of technological systems, systems analysis for safety of system, systems research, systems verification or validation planning, architecture development, and requirements for commercial, industrial and governmental purposes. Integrates system activities to support the aforementioned tasks. To do this, the senior engineer must have a strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, chiller modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, pressure vessel design, refrigerant system performance analysis and compression application.Key Job Responsibilities:•Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design, fluid filtration and pumping•Work cross functionally with service and operations teams to effectively launch designs into production•Develop chiller system architecture that meets or exceeds the product development requirements•Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability in the engineering product test laboratories•Collaborate with the product marketing teams locally to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs when launched•Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.•Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.•Work toward commonality and optimization of product & components to reduce design errors and escapes.•Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requestsThe Senior Mechanical Engineer is a key member of our new product design and development team dedicated to developing advanced cooling solutions particularly for the data center customers. In this role, the Senior Mechanical Engineer leverages expertise in thermal systems to design, analyze, and optimize chiller systems for maximum efficiency, reliability, and performance. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that our chiller products meet and exceed customer expectations while adhering to industry standards and regulations.•Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance under various operating conditions and environments•Collaborate with internal stakeholders, i.e., product management, engineering, and manufacturing, to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions•Support design and development of chiller systems, i.e., component selection, system integration, and performance optimization•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development•Support product testing and validation activities, analyze test results and implement design improvements•Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
