Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots and repairs a variety of electrical equipment, power distribution systems, communication, instrumentation, and control equipment.
Installation and maintenance of network systems and industrial process networks. Develop, test, and implement new process control systems. Integration and expansion of various networks.
Configures, installs, calibrates, repairs, and performs a variety of diagnosis and analytical tests on various electrical, communications, and analytical equipment; installs, maintains, and analyzes malfunctions of computerized control devices and instruments; configures and programs logic controllers and SCADA system components.
Troubleshoots and repairs defective electrical equipment such as motor control, lighting, and alarm systems; may repair programmable controller components and plant power switchgear.
May be responsible for, or assist in, maintaining the plant process Distributed Control System (DCS); which may include computer configuration, system evaluation, program modification, and/or maintenance of related equipment and instruments.
May serve as localized network administrator.
Assembly and maintenance of electrical control boxes.
Read electrical construction drawings and/or wiring schematics.
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain routers and switches.
Design and install conduit and wiring systems in industrial setting.
Create, develop, and maintain automation integration hardware and software.
Performs installation and maintenance of building and industrial electrical circuits and equipment.
Assists with construction inspection to assure electrical systems comply with specifications and codes.
Maintain accurate and detailed records and tracking systems.
May lead the work of other staff at a work site assisting on a specific project.
Conducts preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
Actively supports and respects diversity in the workplace.
Be available and respond to emergency call-back as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years journey-level experience in the electrical trades.
Training:
Specialized training program in electrical construction and maintenance.
License or Certificate:
State of Oregon General Journeyman Electrical license or Limited Plant Journeyman Electrical license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, and maintain, a valid Oregon State Driver's License.

The current National Electric Code and Oregon Specialty Code
Standard process control, system control strategies, associated field instrumentation, and remote communications telemetry/SCADA technologies.
Network and access control systems.
Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) commissioning, configuration, troubleshooting and repair.
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) ladder logic, network configuration and design.
Basic knowledge of remote access, routers and switches, ports, and fiber terminations.
Remote computer programming, network configuration, and design.
Basic knowledge of industrial process networks.
Ability to:
Troubleshoot various electrical/mechanical systems.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized portable and site installed reciprocating engine driven power generation systems and related switchgear.
Work independently and exercise independent judgment.
Read electrical construction drawings and/or wiring schematics.
Keep accurate records and prepare written reports.
Respond to failures, disasters, and emergencies involving electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Prioritize and organize work assignments.
Work well with co-workers.
Perform physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Wear personal protective equipment as required.

Skill in:
Electrical repair work and maintenance of electrical systems in area of assignment.
Programming and commissioning of PLC and OEM based control systems and related components.
Configuration and troubleshooting of TCP/IP and serial communications including ProfiBus and fiber optic cables.
Diagnosing and determining the best method to install, repair, and calibrate process control instrumentation.
The use of a variety of manual and power tools standard to the electrical trade.
The use of a variety of electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and the operation of related test equipment and hand tools needed to complete electrical work.
What to Expect from our Selection Process: Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes.
