Due to two recent promotions, the City of Springfield's Emergency Communications and Information Systems Departments are looking for a Systems Administrator to join their teams.
Below is a list of some activities that this position is responsible for:
- Maintains and supports the Microsoft Active Directory and Window Servers across the enterprise.
- Assists with Active Directory user account creations, modifications and account removals.
- Manages Windows file shares and permissions using Active Directory security groups.
- Maintains and supports DNS, DHCP, Federated Services and certificate authority services.
- Groups Policy administration, troubleshooting, and implementation.
- Setups and manages virtual systems in a VMWare environment.
- Automates tasks using PowerShell.
- Office 365 Administration including but not limited to: creating/deleting accounts, calendars, groups, teams, and email troubleshooting.
- Installs monthly patches on Windows Servers.
- Windows Printer server administration: setup new printers, keep drivers updated as needed and troubleshooting issues related to the print server.
- Performs system and file backup/restores.
- Develops and maintains installation, how to guides and configuration procedures.
- Resolves support tickets and provide technical support to Helpdesk.

Systems AdministratorExperience, Education and Training- Graduation from an accredited college or university with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field;
AND- Two years of relevant experience in a related field;
OR- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, or related field;
AND- Four years of relevant experience in a related field.
Licensing/Certification- Depending on assignment, must possess or obtain within probationary period associate level certification(s) from vendors such as Cisco, Oracle, VMware, Microsoft, etc.
