Summary:
The Surgical Technologist I serves in both the sterile processing and operating room areas. In the Sterile Processing Department, this position is responsible for the cleanliness, sterilization, and functioning of equipment and instrumentation used in surgical cases. In the Operating Room, this an introductory surgical technologist position, developing skills to prepare for the Surgical Technologist II position in the OR. Has a working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience. Must be Certified Surgical Technologist. Must receive Sterile Processing certification within 6 months.
