Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Ophthalmology Surgery Center. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons during ophthalmologic and other surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are ready for procedures.

Unit Information

• Department: Surgery Center – Ophthalmology
• OR Rooms: 4
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Support Staff: Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Manager

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• Experience in Ophthalmology procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Candidates should have experience with:

• Ophthalmology procedures
• Cataract surgery
• Retinal surgery
• Orthopedic procedures
• Carpal Tunnel procedures
• General surgery
• Breast / Plastic surgery procedures

Equipment / Charting System

• EPIC
• Alaris
• Pyxis

Orientation

• 1 week orientation

Schedule

• 4–5 shifts per week
• 8-hour shifts
• Variable start times between 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM

On-Call Requirements

• 1 weekend on-call every 5 weeks
• 4 weeknight on-calls per 5 weeks
• 1 holiday on-call per contract
• 30-minute response time required
