Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgery Scheduler, you will be a critical orchestrator of complex operational logistics, ensuring seamless alignment of resources, personnel, and services.

Every day, you will expertly manage intricate scheduling and resource allocation while meticulously entering and maintaining data. You will also produce schedules, and oversee template maintenance.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong communication, and proficiency with scheduling systems. Your proactive approach and commitment to operational precision are paramount.

COMMUNICATION

  • Answers all calls in a timely manner with courtesy and politeness.Uses good listening skills to determine the callers full needs.
  • Established good rapport with the physician and/or office personnel.
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge in medical terminology as evidenced by accurately spelling medical terms when entering data into computer system.
  • Follows appropriate lines of communication.
  • Listens to and follows directives accurately

SCHEDULING

  • Collects all Surgical information correctly and accurately.
  • Maintains information and documentation in support of departmental operations
  • Has the ability to find scheduling options for the physician and patients needs
  • Updates patient demographics including insurance information at the time the appointment is made.
  • Does not release restricted information that compromises patient and staff confidentiality.

COORDINATION

  • Effectively coordinates activities in support of departmental operations
  • Consistently seeks ways to improve work process and methods to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the department.
  • Reports problems, potential problems, or areas of concern to the department manager.
  • Performs other clerical duties as may be assigned by management
  • Coordinate downtime with other users.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire or
  • One to two years of hospital (medical field) experience with knowledge of medical and surgical terminology, upon hire


Preferred

  • Other Metropolitan test or equivalent, upon hire and
