MajorDuties

  • Duties include but not limited to: The Area Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, services, maintenance and security for all customers within their immediate geographic area. Provides management, supervision and services for Area Network Operations, Operations Support, Systems Integration, and Systems Design. Responsible for IT Operations Maintenance, Information Assurance and Security Management, Resource and Personnel Management, and IT Training. Directs, reviews and participates in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of automated information systems and technical architectures in compliance with Congressional, VA, OI&T, and EUO directives. Compares and contrasts spend plans and budgetary requirements for the EUO District Area at large. Develops & monitors GRC Assessments, Security Control Assessments (SCA), OIG FISMA/FISCAM Audits that protects the NIST confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of the organization's information, information systems, and networks in accordance with policies, procedures and control techniques, and agency and federal regulations. Conducts assigned projects and programs to facilitate IT transformation and secure delivery of services and mission critical information to the District Area. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, which may include one subordinate direct report supervisor, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration and the difficulty of the work and the capability of the employees. Provides oversight in insuring the direction and depth of training provided for the various IT support staff through the End User Operations is adequate and the training meets the requirements of the District's and the Department. Performs other duties as assigned. Remote: This is not a remote position. Physical Demands: The work requires walking, bending, stooping, and lifting of equipment that can weigh as much as 50 pounds. The work requires the ability to use tools, handle and manipulate small electronic parts and systems, such as internal components and hardware. Working Conditions: The work is performed in a typical office setting. The computer room is an environmentally controlled area and, although relatively cool, typically requires only normal clothing. Position is non-bargaining unit eligible.
