Superintendent

The Axel Group is seeking an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent to help drive the successful completion of multifamily wood-frame construction projects. This role will be heavily focused on managing finishing trades, overseeing punch list completion, coordinating inspections, and ensuring the project is delivered on schedule while meeting high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations during the finishing and closeout phases of multifamily construction projects
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors completing interior finishes including drywall, flooring, painting, cabinetry, trim, and final fixtures
• Manage punch list development, tracking, and completion to ensure an efficient project closeout
• Conduct unit walk-throughs with ownership, architects, and consultants to identify and resolve outstanding items
• Ensure all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Coordinate required inspections, testing, and final approvals for project completion
• Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and project requirements
• Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, schedules, and field updates
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to support scheduling, quality control, and turnover milestones

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of field experience in construction, preferably on multifamily wood-frame (stick-built) projects
• Proven experience managing finishing trades, punch lists, and project closeout activities
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors while maintaining project schedules and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications

Preferred

• Experience delivering multifamily residential projects from framing through completion
• Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.)
