A reputable General Contractor specializing in federal and government-funded construction projects across the Chicago metro area is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team.
This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of secure, compliant, and high-quality projects, overseeing all on-site activities from pre-construction through closeout.
Role Overview:
- Lead daily on-site operations for federal and government construction projects
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and field personnel in compliance with federal standards
- Enforce strict adherence to project schedules, quality control, and safety regulations
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, government representatives, and stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with federal requirements (e.g., EM 385-1-1, OSHA, security protocols)
- Maintain detailed site documentation, reporting, and inspections
What You Bring:
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on federal, government, or public-sector projects
- Strong knowledge of federal construction standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience working on secure or occupied sites (e.g., military bases, courthouses, VA facilities)
- Ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams in highly regulated environments
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with government officials and inspectors
- Familiarity with construction scheduling, drawings, and quality control processes
