We are hiring an experienced Superintendent with a strong background building water and wastewater treatment facilities from the ground up. This role requires hands-on leadership experience managing both civil infrastructure (earthwork, utilities, concrete structures) and mechanical piping/process installation inside and outside the plant fence.
This is a field leadership role for someone who understands how treatment plants are built—from mass grading and underground utilities to setting equipment, installing process piping, and coordinating mechanical systems start-up.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Oversee daily field operations on water/wastewater treatment plant projects
- Manage all site work including:
- Earthwork, grading, and site prep
- Underground utilities and yard piping
- Structural concrete basins, tanks, and buildings
- Lead installation of mechanical/process systems including:
- Above and below ground process piping
- Pumps, valves, blowers, clarifiers, and treatment equipment
- Coordination with electrical and instrumentation trades
- Supervise subcontractors, craft labor, and field crews
- Maintain schedule, safety, quality, and productivity on site
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors
- Run weekly look-ahead schedules and daily field planning
- Ensure work is performed per plans, specs, and treatment plant standards
- Lead inspections, testing, and commissioning support
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of superintendent or field leadership experience
- Direct experience building municipal water or wastewater treatment plants
- Strong knowledge of both:
- Civil/site construction (utilities, concrete structures, grading)
- Mechanical/process piping installation
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and mechanical drawings
- Experience coordinating multiple trades on complex treatment facilities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- OSHA and safety-first mindset
Preferred Experience
- Experience with clarifiers, aeration basins, digesters, lift stations, and pump stations
- Familiarity with ductile iron, PVC, stainless, and process piping systems
- Experience working on projects valued $10M+
Why This Role
These projects are complex, highly technical, and require a Superintendent who understands how all components of a treatment plant come together. You won’t be siloed into just civil or just mechanical—you’ll lead the full build.
Competitive compensation, strong pipeline of municipal work, and long-term career growth with a reputable contractor specializing in water/wastewater infrastructure.
If you’ve built treatment plants and know how to manage both the dirt work and the pipe work, we want to talk to you.
