Job Title: Superintendent - Civil Site Work

Job Description

Join a leading civil site work company that has recently secured several large-scale projects. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Determine and define the scope of work and deliverables by reviewing plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality, resolve issues, meet deadlines, and negotiate change orders.
• Communicate with superintendents and office staff to review projects, daily activities, change orders, resources, materials, and staffing needs.
• Manage project budgets to meet financial targets, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables, including subcontractor billings.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including staffing and material tracking logs.
• Attend turnover meetings with estimators to review bid estimates, gain project clarification, and ensure a successful project kickoff.
• Ensure all submittals are reviewed, stamped, and submitted to the owner/engineer or general contractor for approval in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate and timely buyout of each project, including writing and managing contracts and purchase orders for all subcontractors.
• Issue requests for information to owners/engineers or general contractors for clarification and to resolve omissions in drawings.
• Prepare monthly payment applications to the owner and monitor and resolve any disputes related to billings.
• Prepare cost reports for management review regularly to ensure operators remain within budget.
• Ensure necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites are in place.
• Perform essential job functions safely and successfully, consistent with federal, state, and local standards.
• Handle other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Experience with civil site work, grading, and heavy equipment.
• Proven project management skills in construction.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/site/land development.
• Experience as a Superintendent or Project Manager.

Work Environment

The position involves working in a construction environment, managing multiple aspects of project development. The candidate should be comfortable in a dynamic and often fast-paced setting, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $93600.00 - $93600.00/yr.

Gulf Stream Construction internal benefits plan.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Charleston,SC.
