We are looking for energetic, ambitious, and work driven individuals to get paid while gaining valuable work experience in a government setting. We have positions available for Police Interns, 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Interns (18+), Field Operations Light Maintenance Interns, Fire Social Media Content Creator Intern, Summer Law Clerk, Support Services Special Projects Assistant, Marina Intern, Economic Development Digital Media Intern, and Sustainability Planner Intern.

Sustainability Planner Intern:Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you care about protecting the environment, promoting sustainability, and working on exciting projects that can shape the future? Then this internship is perfect for YOU! The City of Titusville is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Summer Sustainability Intern to join the team and work directly with the Sustainability Coordinator. This is an awesome opportunity to dive into the world of local government, community planning, and sustainable development—while gaining hands-on experience that will leave you feeling proud and accomplished!

Field OperationsLight Maintenance Intern:Help keep things running smoothly in the field with lite maintenance and repair work! Whether you’re assisting with equipment, working with automotives, mowing lawns, performing janitorial duties, working with our water/ sewer field operations team, your work will keep everything looking sharp. This is a great chance to learn about different maintenance tasks, from plumbing to carpentry, all while supporting your team.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Hands-on experience with tools and maintenance tasks.
  • Problem-solving and working with skilled professionals.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols.
  • Basic understanding of field operations

911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Intern:If you’re looking for an exciting, fast-paced summer, this is it! You’ll be part of the team that answers emergency calls and dispatches first responders. Learn about the critical work of public safety, stay calm under pressure, and help your community in real time. This is the perfect internship if you’re interested in law enforcement, emergency services, or public safety.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Clear communication and decision-making under pressure.
  • Learning about emergency protocols and the city’s geography.
  • Tech skills using computer systems and dispatch software.

Marina Intern:Enjoy the outdoors while helping boaters at the marina! From assisting with dock maintenance and refueling boats to mowing the grass, you’ll get to work hands-on with boats and marina equipment. Plus, you’ll meet new people and assist with ensuring the marina is clean and ready for visitors!

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Knowledge of marina operations and customer service.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tools.
  • Teamwork and public interaction.

Support ServicesSpecial Projects Assistant Intern:If you’re into planning and managing projects, this internship is for you! You’ll help City Staff with everything from project coordination and grant research to creating reports and assisting with events. Get involved with exciting community initiatives while learning about project management and working with different partners.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Organizing and managing project timelines.
  • Communication, research, and event planning.
  • Learning about grants and resource development.

Fire Social Media Content Creator Intern:Get a behind-the-scenes look at fire safety! You’ll help with public education and support social media campaigns and assist in creating safety materials. Plus, you’ll research the latest trends in digital marketing and help spread the word about fire safety initiatives. If you’re interested in fire safety and public service, this internship is a great fit!

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Fire safety education and marketing.
  • Public Outreach, educate and inspire the community
  • Social media and content creation.

Police Intern:Step into the world of law enforcement! You’ll assist with evidence collection, learn about police procedures, and gain insight into crime analysis and investigations. Plus, you’ll get to attend court proceedings and ride along with officers to see how it all works in action.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Learning about law enforcement procedures and evidence handling.
  • Writing reports and presenting findings.
  • Gaining firsthand experience in various police departments.

Economic Development Digital Media Intern: Help shape the future of local business! You’ll create and share content about the City’s efforts to attract businesses, design marketing materials, and learn how digital media helps grow communities. Plus, you’ll research the latest trends in digital marketing and help spread the word about new initiatives.

Skills You’ll Develop:

  • Digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
  • Graphic design and research skills.
  • Communicating with local businesses and the community.

Summer Law Clerk:Start your journey towards success. To help you transition from a law student to legal professional, here at the city you will become familiar with Florida statues and Sunshine Laws, city policies and ordinances. You will have exposure to City Council meetings, Land Use & Zoning, and General Liability. You will work on special projects, get "on-your-feet" experience, and you'll see exactly how local government touches people's lives.


Skills You'll Develop:
  • Legal research, discovery review, and preparing briefs, pleadings, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Preparation and presentation of seminars on various legal and ethics issues.
  • Court attendance and development of legal strategies.


FIELD OPERATIONLIGHT MAINTENANCE

Enrolled in High School, College or equivalent is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. No prior experience required, but if you’ve done any manual labor, construction, or similar work, that’s a plus! We’re looking for someone in the 16-24 age range who’s ready to learn and help out with tasks like lifting, organizing, and using basic tools. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current Drugs and Alcohol policy.


SUPPORT SERVICESSPECIAL PROJECTS ASSISTANT INTERN

Enrolled in High School, College or equivalent is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid Florida Operator's License (Driver's license) with an acceptable 3-year motor vehicle record. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current Drugs and Alcohol policy.

911 PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR INTERN

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of Florida Department of Health 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Course. Must be 18 years or older (subject to program guidelines).ADDITIONAL SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Required to pass 232-hour state-required training course and have obtained the State 911 PST Certification. Work may involve rotating shift; includes weekends, and emergency events. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current Drugs and Alcohol policy.
FIRE SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATOR INTERN

Enrolled in High School, College or equivalent is required. Desires to work towards a degree in education, communications, marketing. Use of computer and spreadsheet entry, file maintenance, familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), website content development, creative problem-solving skills, multitasking in a deadline driven environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
POLICE INTERN

Must be 18 years of age or older (subject to program guidelines). Requires high school diploma or GED. Must be attending college with intentions of pursuing studies in Criminal Justice, Crime Scene Analysis, Law, Pre-Law, and Public Administration with a Minor in law related studies.Must have no felony convictions and pass a Civilian Background Check for CJIS Compliance, other pre-employment inquires. This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current Drugs and Alcohol policy.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN

Enrolled in High School, College or equivalent is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Use of computer and spreadsheet entry and file maintenance programs preferred. Enrolled in accredited college or university school of law.
