Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Strategic Long‑Range Maintenance Planner to support a commercial airline client. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the airline's maintenance strategy by leading long‑range planning, forecasting, and analytical modeling across the fleet. The planner will use historical and predictive data to optimize heavy, intermediate, and line maintenance activities—balancing aircraft availability, cost control, and operational efficiency.

This role partners closely with Tech Ops, Maintenance Planning, Supply Chain, Network Planning, and Finance leadership, making it well‑suited for a candidate who brings strong aviation maintenance planning experience, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to communicate insights to senior stakeholders.


Must-Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of Aviation Maintenance Planning experience, including:
  • Line Maintenance Planning
  • Maintenance Operations Planning
  • Working knowledge of aircraft inspections and maintenance programs
  • Experience with programs planning and inventory planning methodologies
  • Strong forecasting and analytical modeling experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
  • VLOOKUP
  • Pivot Tables
  • Complex formulas
  • Advanced formatting


Plusses

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced Excel expertise, including:
  • Comparing large datasets
  • Referencing multiple data sources
  • Long‑range maintenance planning methodology experience
  • 3+ years of A&P experience, compliant with CFR 65
  • or equivalent military maintenance experience


Day-to-Day

  • Develop and maintain annual, 5‑year, and 10‑year maintenance plans using forecasting and capacity modeling
  • Lead airframe activity reviews, analyzing past and future data related to fleet performance, labor, facilities, and programs
  • Create and manage long‑range material forecasting models to smooth demand over rolling planning periods
  • Optimize aircraft maintenance visit scenarios to reduce downtime, control cost, and maximize fleet utilization
  • Analyze maintenance check performance against plan and identify improvement opportunities
  • Produce monthly and annual maintenance planning performance reports
  • Coordinate maintenance allocation requirements with:
  • Tech Ops leadership
  • Network Planning
  • Finance
  • Partner with Supply Chain and internal/external maintenance facilities to ensure readiness for heavy and intermediate check activity
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Planning, Production, and Tech Ops teams to align maintenance execution with strategic plans
  • Support implementation of system‑wide maintenance capabilities across manpower, facilities, and aircraft programs


Compensation:

$75k to $90k per year annual salary
