About the role 

This position plays an essential role in executing the company’s selling model, ensuring an engaging and personalized customer experience by instilling Customer and Operational Excellence with a store to drive sales and loyalty. Models and trains associates to drive sales through company policies and procedures, product knowledge, merchandising, brand standards, customer service, and selling strategies. Key Responsibilities 

• Store Managers lead by example in executing the company’s selling model, ensuring an engaging and personalized customer experience that drives sales and loyalty

• Store Managers coach, develop, and inspire their team to meet company standards and adopt strong selling behaviors to achieve KPI goals by setting expectations, giving feedback, and creating a high-performance sales culture focused on exceptional service and results 

• Leverages internal hiring platform and actively recruits to build a strong network of external candidates to fill positions timely, when required 

• Hires, develops, and leads store associates, ensuring excellent customer experiences and overseeing operations while maintaining brand standards 

• Store Managers explain and demonstrate company policies and procedures and achieve and exceed sales goals by leveraging product knowledge, customer service skills, merchandising, and strategic selling techniques 

• Provides supervision, direction, and planning of associates’ daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional customer experience that maximizes sales/KPIs and drives customer loyalty 

• Champions company culture and values. Fully supports and embodies these values, ensuring their team is aligned and committed to our company culture 

• Leads efforts to implement change and supports new company initiatives while following the directions of the District Manager and Senior Regional Director 

• Builds strong working relationships with Store/Training Store Manager peers, AM/DM, S/RD, and business partners and communicates timely, as needed 

• Ensures the store environment is always safe for associates and customers by adhering to safety protocols, policies, and procedures 

• Drives focus on both the in-store selling model and omni-channel and follows up to coach teams, as needed, to achieve company goals 

• Responsible for protecting company assets by ensuring all inventory control and cash procedures are being followed in-store as they relate to shrink, damages, banking, etc.; implements measures to prevent theft and minimize loss due to damage or error 

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements 

• High School Diploma or equivalent 

• Must be 18 years of age or older • Minimum 3+ years of retail sales/customer service experience 

• At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience • Proficient with company technologies used and can lead virtually with ease 

• Practice of consistently meeting company expectations with brand standards 

• Well organized and can effectively plan and prioritize tasks to meet business needs 

• Strong oral and written communication skills with team, peers, management, and business partners 

• Must ensure schedule availability to meet the demands of the business and adhere to the company required schedule guidelines as a Store Manager 

• Cosmetology license desirable, but not required

Working conditions & physical requirements 

The position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities, such as above-average agility and dexterity. May be required to work in other stores from time to time. 

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require standard safety precautions typical of places like offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
