Job Title: Sr Staff Systems Engineer (Active Directory and Windows Server Administration)

Salary: $170K – $180K Base + Benefits
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Active Directory & Windows Server Specialist to manage and secure enterprise-level directory services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Active Directory (on-prem), identity and access management, and Windows Server administration, with a strong focus on security, patching, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory (2016/2019 and above) environments
- Perform AD upgrades and manage Read/Write and Read-Only Domain Controllers
- Configure and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Manage authentication policies, silos, and gMSA (Group Managed Service Accounts)
- Work closely with DNS, DHCP, and other core AD-integrated services
- Monitor and troubleshoot authentication issues (Kerberos, NTLM, account lockouts)
- Conduct regular audits of AD objects, permissions, and group memberships
- Ensure security and integrity of the AD infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019+)
- Implement OS hardening, vulnerability management, and patch deployment
- Analyze security bulletins and prioritize patching based on risk
- Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting
- Maintain documentation for configurations, changes, and SOPs
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Active Directory & Windows Server administration
- Strong expertise in:
- Active Directory architecture
- Kerberos, GPOs, DNS, DHCP
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication (written & verbal)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (O365 environment)
- Knowledge of hybrid identity and security best practices
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer Science / IT / Electronics) – Mandatory
