Staff+ Security Software Engineer

We're partnered with a groundbreaking AI-Native start-up that is looking to hire its Founding Security Software Engineer. This person will lead this greenfield opportunity, which includes security design, automated defenses, secure AI/ML pipelines, and championing GitOps Security.

Must Haves

• AppSec/ InfraSec experience: 6+ years in application or infrastructure security within a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on Coding experience: Able to write and ship production code in Python, Go, C++, or Java
• Multi-cloud experience: Deep expertise securing AWS environments; experience with GCP or Azure is a strong plus.
• Offensive Mindset: Ability to think like an attacker to anticipate risks, paired with a collaborative approach to helping engineering teams remediate them.
• Operational Mindset: Experience with modern observability practices and a "you build it, you run it" mentality toward security infrastructure.
• Agentic Security Tooling: Experience integrating agentic AI workflows into the developer lifecycle to deliver real-time security feedback, enabling a "secure-by-design" approach as code is written.

Nice to Haves

• AI/ML Security: Experience securing AI/ML workloads, including defending against prompt injection attacks or protecting model weights.
• Kubernetes Mastery: Strong K8s (EKS/GKE) experience, particularly around multi-tenant security and resource isolation.

• Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA
• Base Salary Range: $260K to $380K + equity
