A very large manufacutring services organization is seeking a staff accountant to work remote in the Georgia area.


The Staff Accountant will play an important role in the Finance/Accounting Team, reporting directly to the Senior Accountant. To be successful in this role, the Staff Accountant must be tech savvy and conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties. The ideal candidate for this role has excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills and can create and maintain a team-oriented environment while working with others. This position will support the month-end closing process while preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements.


Position Responsibilities


  • Prepare month-end activities, including journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and reporting for over 100 locations.
  • Participate in monthly analytic review of over 100 locations.
  • Partnering and developing effective working relationships with employees in offsite locations, as well as with corporate teams to drive process and system improvements where appropriate.
  • Effectively communicates and escalates issues and information to the Senior Accountant or other appropriate levels of management on a timely basis.
  • Supports the Senior Accountant by preparing ad hoc reports, conducting research, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:



  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with members of management, other departments, auditors, etc.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines and demanding quality execution.
  • Demonstrates skill in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing, and operational use.
  • Tech savvy and one who demonstrates advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; knowledge of Power Bi would be ideal.


Education/ Experience

Required:


• BS degree in accounting is a requirement.

• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience working with a mid-to high level ERP system. Dynamics 365 preferred.
