TelaForce, a Titan Technologies company, is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting our clients’ server and storage infrastructures. This role ensures optimal performance, security, availability, and scalability of all servers, storage systems, identity services, and related platforms. Serving as a technical leader within the infrastructure team, the Senior Systems Administrator provides advanced troubleshooting, architectural input, and operational oversight for core platforms. This role collaborates closely with network, security, cloud, and application teams to deliver reliable and secure technical services that support business operations across on-premises and hybrid environments.
In addition to day-to-day administration, the Senior Systems Administrator participates in infrastructure planning, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts aimed at modernizing and strengthening the organization’s technology environment. The position is based in the organization’s Destin, Florida office and includes supporting systems located at client environments throughout Okaloosa County, which may require periodic on-site work. Certain administrative tasks may also be performed remotely when appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and/or Linux servers in enterprise environments
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, patches, and system upgrades
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, ADFS, KMS, Certificate Authority, and other core identity services
- Administer Hybrid Active Directory (Hybrid AD) environments integrating on-premises AD with cloud identity platforms
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Entra Connect
- Manage Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS)
- Support identity federation, authentication services, and access policy enforcement across integrated platforms
- Administer and maintain enterprise storage hardware including SAN and NAS systems
- Provision and manage RAID, LUNS, and storage pools to support enterprise workloads
- Configure and manage cluster storage environments supporting high availability and failover (Windows Failover Clustering / Hyper-V / VMware clusters)
- Implement and manage iSCSI storage connectivity including VLAN configuration, MPIO, and performance optimization
- Assist in capacity planning and long-term storage architecture decisions
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and service availability to maintain reliability and uptime
- Utilize infrastructure monitoring tools to identify performance issues and proactively mitigate risks
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, storage, and network issues affecting server performance
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex server, storage, and system issues
- Maintain system security through proper configuration, patching, vulnerability remediation, and access controls
- Ensure server and storage security through proper access controls, logging, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation using tools such as PowerShell or Bash to streamline administrative tasks
- Participate in infrastructure planning, upgrades, and modernization initiatives including server refreshes, storage expansion, and platform upgrades
- Assist in planning and executing infrastructure improvements including storage expansion and cluster upgrades
- Participation in CAB/change control processes
- Provide technical support to internal teams and coordinate with vendors when needed
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Lead response during major infrastructure incidents
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Other tasks as assigned by the Network Manager or Program Manager
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems including Windows Server (Standard, Enterprise, Core), and Linux distributions.
- Experience managing Hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra Connect and Google Directory Sync tools.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and administration.
- Experience managing enterprise storage hardware including SAN, NAS, RAID, and LUN provisioning.
- Hands-on experience with cluster storage environments and high-availability configurations.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting iSCSI storage environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, etc.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and high-availability technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, NIC Teaming, load balancing, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud identity and access technology environments including Azure SSO and Conditional Access policies.
- Proficient in system monitoring and infrastructure management tools.
- Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of server administration, systems engineering, or related enterprise IT infrastructure experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience managing clustered production environments and high-availability architectures.
- Experience operating in hybrid identity and multi-cloud integration environments.
