The PlatformData Interfacesteam in the Platform Services division is looking for aSeniorSoftware Developer.This teamis responsible forbuilding andmaintainingthe access layer for theapplicationstorage solutionsinthe SAS Viya PlatformusingGolangand other technologies asrequired. As a member of thisteam, you will help tomaintainand improve the use of these technologies in our platform, adhere to SLAs and security compliance needs, and developnew solutionsfordata storage and access within the system.
As aSeniorSoftware Developer,we are looking for someone who:
Designs and develops high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D bestpractices and processes.
Actively involves other project stakeholders (e.g.managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.
Ensures quality through functional, unit and performance testing; works closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicates when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes.
Maintains accountability for the entire life cycle of thecodeincluding support for both internal and external consumers.
In collaboration with technical writers, authorsappropriate levelof design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers.
Participatesin open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
Ensuresall applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field
8+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects
Experience writing Golangand/or Java
Experience withRelational Databases
Experience using GitHubfor source management
Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing
Experience using Agile development practices
Experienceoperatingin a CI/CD environment
Experience with Liquibase and/or other database schema management and migration tools
Familiarity withdata-persistencein cloud environments
Familiaritywith various cloud environments and concepts
Equivalentcombination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Experience developing applications in Kubernetes
