Sr. R&D Manager

The Senior R&D Manager is responsible for leading the development and application of food technologies across the organization. This role balances hands-on project work with team leadership, with a strong focus on developing staff, driving key initiatives, and supporting overall R&D strategy.

This position plans and oversees R&D activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Senior R&D Manager is also expected to be a reliable resource across the business and a key partner to leadership.

• Lead, coach, and develop team members
• Oversee R&D projects from concept through completion
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Support and help manage the R&D budget
• Contribute to annual planning and department strategy
• Maintain regular communication with the Director team and cross-functional partners
• Act as a go-to resource for technical and product-related questions
• Take on additional projects or responsibilities as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Strong leadership and team development experience
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AS400 and Lotus Notes is a plus

• Primarily office-based, with time spent in plant or lab settings as needed
• May be exposed to:
  • Loud environments
  • Strong food-related odors or airborne particles
  • Hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions
  • Standing or walking on concrete
  • Stairs, ladders, or elevated surfaces

Salary: $130,000-$150,000K
