Maintain and monitor the corporate and restaurant network, security, and computing platforms to ensure current enterprise needs are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, design engineering, and problem resolution of large WAN/LAN environments (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, and VOIP).
Coordinate and implement network changes including building configurations as necessary. Compile statistics and reports as necessary on network performance and utilization.
Utilizes metrics and standard processes for systems/service implementation and maintenance, which minimize the impact on customer service and provide adequate backup/recovery capability.
Applies strong knowledge of data communications principles, architectures, and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, WAN, and Ethernet technologies to design and implement efficient network configurations.
Develops and utilizes standard processes for systems/service implementation and maintenance, which minimize the impact on customer service and provide adequate backup/recovery capability. Ensures timely delivery of new capabilities.
Provides guidance and assistance to other Information Technology staff members in the usage of systems for which he/she has responsibility.
Maintain network devices including physical swapping of devices, cards, and cables. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
4-year degree in IT or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education
Preferred CCNP-level of knowledge expected in networking theory, although active certifications are not required
Minimum 5+ years working in network engineering or network architectural roles within the IT industry.
7+ years working in Network Engineering or Network Architectural role within the IT industry preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting advanced networks.
Experience interfacing with Network and Telecommunications providers.
Hands-on experience with Cisco router/switch configurations and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of LAN and WAN concepts in a Cisco and/or SonicWall environment.
Working knowledge of various networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP
Working knowledge of various routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP
Experience providing support and configuration for Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
Working knowledge of VLANs, Spanning-Tree, Multi-Chassis Trunking, and Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation.
Experience providing support and configuration for Cisco Catalyst platforms.
Experience working with and mentoring Help Desk or Desktop support staff and business stakeholders.
Experience working in a Compliance network environment (PCI, HIPAA, SOX)
Experience with Sonicwall firewalls, Radware load balancers, MS Skype, and O365 is a plus.
Experience supporting mid to large-scale data center environments.
Experience with Network Security.
Project management skills.
Technical Documentation skills.
