Purpose of Role:
The primary purpose of this role to lead the design, development and maintenance of descriptive and predictive analytics tools and frameworks in support of Lowe's pricing and promotions strategy. This role will partner with leadership in Tech, FP&A, P&P and other teams to assist Lowe's in better understanding the effectiveness of various pricing and promotions initiatives. This role will lead a team of analysts in leveraging data to generate useful insights as well as identify trends & anomalies, to help with decision making and policy formulation for the business. This team will be responsible for helping maintain Lowe's best-in-class position in the Pricing and Promotions space.
Responsibility Statements:
• Responsible for leading the design, development and maintenance of data analytics and visualization tools to impact the strategy and direction of Lowe's enterprise pricing and promotions capability.
• Invent innovative ways to answer key business questions, by turning data to insights.
• Articulate analysis findings using creative data storytelling in a compelling manner to senior leadership. Develops and presents communications, frequently to senior leadership, that convey the right message in an effective way to the appropriate audience.
• Plan and lead the execution of data visualization and analytics projects, leveraging strong client engagement, collaboration and project management skills.
• Build, sustain and influence senior leaders within the Merchandising, IT, DACI, Supply Chain and Finance organizations.
• Select, hire, develop and engage a best-in-class team of pricing and promo strategy, business intelligence and analytics professionals.
• Conduct thorough assessments of the pricing and promo industry trends via relevant conferences, business/retail benchmarking exercises, etc.
• Collaborate with software vendors, P&P, DACI and IT to scope out, prioritize and develop innovative capabilities that drive benefit to Lowe's.
• Lead the design and development of automated processes that generate and deploy dashboards, reports and advanced analytics without manual intervention.
• Collaborate with end users, onshore and offshore team members as well as internal stakeholders to create visual analytics solutions that provide critical insights and help make informed pricing and promotions decisions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Analytics, Information Systems, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research or related field
• 7+ years’ experience in Pricing & Promotions, Merchandising, Finance, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Revenue Management, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience in advanced analytics, pricing, revenue management consulting or related software implementation
• 2+ years’ experience working with common analytics and data science software and technologies such as SQL, Python, R or SAS as well as visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• 1+ year(s) experience working closely with senior leadership (VP and above)
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Analytics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Research, or related field
• 3+ year corporate retail pricing and promotions, revenue management, analytics or data science experience
• 3+ years design or implementation experience with revenue management, price optimization, business intelligence or related software solutions
