About the Role
The Senior Manager, Commercial Development plays a critical role in shaping and executing commercial improvement initiatives across DHL eCommerce. Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Development, this position helps strengthen commercial capabilities, improve end‑to‑end processes, and enable accelerated growth.
This is a highly cross‑functional role, partnering closely with leaders across Sales, Pricing, Marketing, Customer Service, Product, and IT. The ideal candidate brings a hands‑on approach, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to translate strategy into practical, executable actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess existing commercial processes, tools, data flows, and organizational structures to identify root causes, gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Develop business cases, structured plans, and prioritized recommendations to advance commercial effectiveness
- Support the execution of a commercial improvement roadmap spanning the full lifecycle (marketing, lead generation, sales, pricing, contracting, onboarding, and customer service)
- Act as an internal consultant to solve cross‑functional challenges and accelerate execution
- Partner with functional leaders to implement initiatives, monitor progress, track results, and recommend course corrections
- Lead deep‑dive evaluations of commercial tools and systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, reporting platforms) and collaborate with IT and global teams to optimize workflows
- Help establish standardized reporting, dashboards, operating mechanisms, and performance metrics aligned to commercial strategy
- Prepare high‑quality presentations and materials for stakeholders up to senior leadership
- Support and mentor team members as the commercial development function grows
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in commercial, strategy, product, consulting, PMO, or related roles
- Proven experience analyzing and improving commercial processes across multiple functions
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and executed outcomes
- Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving capabilities
- Experience influencing stakeholders and working cross‑functionally without direct authority
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Hands‑on, execution‑oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to eCommerce, parcel logistics, B2C shipping, or related industries
- Familiarity with commercial tools such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar platforms
- Experience with process mapping, commercial operations, or transformation initiatives
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, industrial engineering, or a related field
Work Environment
- Professional office environment
