Job Title: Environmental Technician
Job Description

Lead and oversee field operations related to the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of Gas Collection & Control Systems (GCCS) across multiple project sites. Supervise and mentor junior field technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and safety compliance. Manage environmental field projects from planning through execution, ensuring regulatory deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders, providing technical updates, progress reports, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex GCCS and landfill gas (LFG) system issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of liquids extraction systems and ensure accurate monitoring and documentation of LFG and environmental data.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions safely.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
Essential Skills
  • Hazwoper certification
  • Soil sampling and air monitoring expertise
  • Experience in environmental fieldwork and remediation
  • High school diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental fieldwork
  • Proven experience in supervising staff and managing projects
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and landfill gas system operations
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Skilled in the use of environmental monitoring equipment
  • Light equipment operation experience; HDPE pipe fusion experience is a plus
  • Ability to interpret and analyze environmental data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Completion of OSHA HAZWOPER, 40-hour environmental health and safety class
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Technicians work outdoors and must be able to safely navigate extreme weather conditions, steep terrains, and lift heavy objects. Dress code is appropriate for fieldwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Diamond Bar, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
