Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to lead and direct the enhancement of our database management systems. In this role, you will oversee the coding of logical and physical database descriptions, review project requests, and estimate the time and cost required to accomplish projects. You will be responsible for approving, scheduling, and planning the installation and testing of new products, as well as implementing security measures to safeguard information. Furthermore, you will develop standards and guidelines to guide software use and acquisition, ensuring the protection of vulnerable information.

Responsibilities

  • Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
  • Review and approve database development, and determine project scope and limitations.
  • Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
  • Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software, and to protect vulnerable information.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in design, software development lifecycle, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with machining operations and CAD software, specifically Creo modeling.
  • Ability to apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from business/systems analysis to development, testing, and delivery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes as needed.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software.
  • Experience with computer development software across multiple platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hodges, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
