Job Title: Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Inpatient Rehab

Location: Portland, Oregon

Pay Rate: $2,210/week

Contract Length: 16 Weeks

Start Date: August 2026

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Hours: 4x10s (07:00 AM – 05:00 PM)
  • Schedule: Sunday – Wednesday (Block Schedule Required)
  • Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend day per week (included in schedule)
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, with a strong emphasis on individualized, one-on-one care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
  • Provide treatment for:
  • Dysphagia and swallowing disorders
  • Aphasia and communication impairments
  • Cognitive-linguistic deficits
  • Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and modified barium swallow studies
  • Utilize augmentative and alternative communication devices
  • Educate patients and families on therapy plans and progress
  • Complete documentation using Epic EMR
  • Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary care

Patient Care

  • Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1 care model
  • Focus on improving patient independence and functional outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of SLP experience (inpatient/acute care preferred)
  • Active SLP license (Oregon or eligible)
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with Epic charting system

Required Skills

  • Dysphagia management
  • Communication and cognitive therapy
  • Modified Barium Swallow Studies
  • Trach/Vent and Passy-Muir Valve experience
  • Patient and family education

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work Sunday–Wednesday schedule
  • Floating may be required within nearby facilities
  • Must have a personal vehicle for assignment
  • Travelers must be flexible and adhere to scheduling requirements
