We are seeking a Sous Chef for our high-volume, scratch kitchen concept in Tampa, FL. This role will support the Executive Chef in overseeing back-of-house operations, ensuring consistent execution of menu items, and maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and team performance.

Sous Chef Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations in a high-volume, scratch environment
  • Lead line execution during service, ensuring consistency, timing, and quality across all stations
  • Train and develop line cooks and prep staff, reinforcing standards and accountability
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and performance management of kitchen team members
  • Ensure proper food preparation, portioning, and presentation in line with restaurant standards
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control to meet food cost targets
  • Coordinate with front-of-house leadership to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
  • Support menu execution across a Spanish-inspired, tapas-style and seafood-driven program
  • Uphold a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture with a hands-on leadership approach

Sous Chef Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager role
  • Experience in full-service, upscale or high-volume restaurant concepts required
  • Strong background in scratch kitchens with attention to detail and execution
  • Experience with seafood and Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
