Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We are seeking a highly motivated Software Sr Engineer in Hogan IDS (Integrated Deposit Systems).

This mainframe engineering developer will provide technical leadership and support for the DDA development team and programs.

Duties of this role include but are not limited to: analyzing business requirements, designing and writing technical specifications, and developing new or complex code as well as providing coding guidance and direction to less experienced onshore and offshore staff.

Successful individual in this role will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Ability to quickly adapt within our fast paced environment
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to function in a mainframe and Agile application development environment
  • Ability to maintain and modify existing applications or develop complex programs
  • Ability to analyze complex code, test and debug programs, and assist others
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and assist in writing functional and technical specifications
  • Ability to complete necessary systems documentation, procedures, and user guides
  • Ability to manage effectively between multiple initiatives and deliver high-quality products within service level agreement (SLA)

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of Hogan experience
  • 2+ years of Agile experience


Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 7+ years of mainframe experience
  • 7+ years of Cobol experience
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Knowledge and understanding of PAC2000
  • Endevor experience
  • Messaging Queue (MQ) experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to identify business needs and deliver solutions in close partnership with line of business and technology
  • Experience supporting or directing offshore teams
