HRIT provides technology support for team member focused applications and processes, including payroll, benefits, learning and recruiting. We are currently looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead development and support of Cloud-based application configuration, and custom application development.  As HR at Wells Fargo moves to the cloud, this role will take on application management responsibilities for some of Wells Fargo’s most critical Human Resources systems.  This role will be the primary application manager for document management and employment related systems. 

This role demands a focus on establishing maintaining trusted partnerships, application portfolio leadership, effective team leadership, and delivering value for the business. In addition, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate competency in the areas of collaborative problem solving, effective consultation, and critical analysis of requirements and design.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Management of a medium-sized team of developers dedicated to understanding business requirements and delivering solutions to meet those requirements.
• Consultation, prioritization, and advocacy with business product teams to deliver most important functionality for products in scope.
• Creative problem solving in areas of workload management, prioritization, and technical challenges.
• Application management responsibilities.
• Coaching and mentoring, nurturing the talents of approximately 10 team members with varying experience, as this team makes transformations from legacy to cloud applications and from waterfall to agile approach.
• Communicating status, plans, progress, and issues with a wide variety of audiences, including senior technical and business management, peers, and technical staff.

Preferred work location is Minneapolis, MN.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
     


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 4+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
  • 4 + years of technology application management experience
  • 2+ years of Agile experience
  • 2+ years of HR systems experience (e.g. PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP or Workday)


Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
  • Knowledge and understanding of system application development including large scale applications
  • Ability to recruit, retain, and grow high potential talent/teams
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships


Other Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with an industry-standard scripting language
• 4+ years of Build and CICD technologies experience
• Experience with business and technology transformations
• Experience working within Wells Fargo's technology group
