Position: Software Engineer

Location: North Charleston, SC - HYBRID

Length: 6mo contract-to-hire

Rate: $45/hr - $80/hr

Required Skills

- 5+ years of professional full stack software development experience

- Eligibility to obtain a DoD clearance - Completed STEM degree

- Strong expertise developing new web applications and making analytical development decisions

- Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

- Extensive experience with the following technologies: Postgres, Java, jOOQ, Typescript, HTML


Nice to Have Skills & Experience


- Experience with Atlassian tools

- Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo

- Experience with DevOps / DevSecOps

- Experience with Agile software development

- Current Active Secret Clearance


Job Description


Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong experience in full stack web application development. The Software Developer will be working in North Charleston in a hybrid capacity 3 days a week on a project within the Military Health portfolio.


Core hours: 9-3 4 week sprints


Day to Day responsibilities:

- Contribute to the development of a new web application on both the front end and back end using Java and Typescript, while maintaining code and fixing bugs

- Write code that is robust, secure, readable, tested, follows conventions, and is no more complex than necessary.

- Formulate and develop detailed specifications, code, documentation, and related customer information required to complete program development and maintenance activities.

- Confer with project manager and representatives of departments to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, extent of automatic programming and coding use and modification, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.

- Test and correct program errors by altering program steps and sequence.

- Analyze, review, and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

- Actively participate in planning activities, artifact creation, testing, and demonstrations over 4 week sprints.

- Analyze project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.

- Assist with other program efforts (such as test automation, configuration management, etc.)
