Software Engineer

Primis is partnered with a global B2B fintech company building the core infrastructure behind modern investing apps and seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their Core Trade team.

This is a 6 month contract to start with potential for extension or conversion.

This is a hybrid role with candidates expected to work onsite 2x a week in Downtown Manhattan.

This team owns mission-critical APIs that directly power live trading, used by financial institutions and fintechs globally. The role is deeply technical, focused on low-latency high-throughput Java systems.

What you will do:

• Lead the technical design and delivery of greenfield projects (Java)
• Work cross-functionally with teams ranging from trade desks to product managers.
• Monitor and analyse production systems – focussing on analysing data sets to troubleshoot issues.
• Deliver solutions for multiple stakeholders and global partners.

What we are looking for:

• Highly skilled working in brokerage, fintech or trading.
• You must have experience with either Fixed Income or Options asset classes.
• Experience in deploying applications within AWS Java fundamentals.
• Experience with multithreading and concurrency in Java, as well as experience with low latency, high-throughput distributed systems.
• Understanding of Java Garbage Collection.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
