Sleep Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Sleep Technician to conduct overnight sleep studies, manage data collection using accelerometer and circle ring devices, and ensure the accuracy and upload of data. This is a long-term, part-time opportunity for individuals interested in contributing to clinical trial data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct overnight sleep studies at assigned sleep clinics.
  • Collect data from accelerometer and circle ring devices and log any anomalies.
  • Ensure proper data collection and upload data to the client.
  • Set up study equipment following established procedures and study protocol.
  • Explain procedures to patients, orient them on study requirements and devices.
  • Document observations, including clinical events and procedural changes.
  • Collect and upload subject data per approved study and laboratory protocols.
  • Complete all required documentation and computer data entry thoroughly and on schedule.
  • Ensure patient safety during procedures and evaluate intervention outcomes for accurate data collection.
  • Participate in staff, study, and departmental meetings as required.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in sleep analysis software.
  • Experience with polysomnographic equipment and software.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an overnight PSG Technologist.
  • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) is highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Nursing, or related areas.
  • Certifications in Clinical Research and GxP are an asset.
  • Knowledge of ICH-GCP and Good Documentation Practices is preferred.

Work Environment

The Sleep Technician will operate primarily from two main locations in the Carolinas and Florida. The role requires overnight shifts in a clinical setting, ensuring a professional and safe environment for data collection and patient interaction. The position offers a collaborative work culture with opportunities to engage in departmental meetings and continuous learning.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
